Instant Pot Spicy Murmura /Pori /Puffed Rice


INGREDIENTS:

    • Plain puffed rice/pori/Murmura - 8 cups
    • Peanuts - 1/2 cup
    • Oil - 3 tbsp
    • Hing / Asafotida - little
    • Curry Leaves (optional)


    • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
    • Garlic crushed - 5 cloves
    • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
    • Red chilli powder - 1 -2 tsp (adjust based on your spice level)
    • Salt as per the taste.

Instructions:

  • Turn on Instant pot Saute mode (More)
  • Once pot is hot, add oil, mustard seeds and peanuts - Roast it well until peanuts turns light brown.
  • Add hing, curry leaves and crushed garlic - Stir until turns slightly brown.
  • Now change the saute mode to Less
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Quick stir.
  • Now add puffed rice. Mix all together.
  • Stir fry for 5 minutes or until it gets crispy.  
  • Now Spicy Crispy Murmura is Ready. 
  • Finally cool the murmura completely and store it in airtight container for upto 2 months.
