Easy Instant Pot Onion Tomato Chutney | Idly or Dosa Chutney 


INGREDIANTS:

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil / any oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • curry leaves
  • 4 red chilies
  • 4 garlic pods
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 cup mint
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 3 Romo tomatoes
  • salt per taste
TEMPERING:
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2  tsp urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • little hing
  • curry leaves

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Turn on instant pot saute mode, when pot is hot add oil.
  • Add cumin seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, red chilies, garlic, ginger - Quick stir
  • Add mint leaves, chopped onion, chopped tomoto - Saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add salt. Close the lid with sealing position
  • Cancel saute mode - Set steam for 6 minutes
  • When it is done, cancel and quick release.  Wait until it cools down.
  • Transfer the mixture to the blender, Blend it until smooth.
For tempering:

  • Heat the pan on the stove top, add oil.
  • when oil is hot, add mustard seeds, urad dal, hing and curry leaves. Wait until it splutters.
  • Pour it to the chutney. Delicious onion tomato chutney is ready.
  • It goes well with Dosa or Idly.
