Instant Pot Chocolate Sooji Halwa | Chocolate Kesari


    • 1 cup Sooji/Rava
    • 1 cup brown sugar / sugar
    • 2 1/4 cup Water
    • 4 tbsp Ghee
    • Pinch of salt
    • 1 tbsp Coco powder
    • 2 tbsp chocolate chips
    • Cardamom (optional)
    • 2 tbsp Cashews
    • 2 tbsp Raisins
    • 1 tbsp chocolate chips



    • Turn on Instant Pot - saute mode.  When it is hot, add ghee.
    • Add cashews and raisins.  Stir until it turns light brown.
    • Add sooji and roast it for a minute, it turns to golden brown and a beautiful aroma spreads out in the kitchen..
    • Add coco powder and brown sugar - mix them well.
    • Add salt, and cardamom with water.
    • Close the instant pot with sealing position.
    • Cancel saute mode, set manual high pressure for 1 minute. Pressure may not build up (the valve may not raise up)
    • Open the lid after 5 minutes. Mix it well with chocolate chips and ghee.
    • Yummy Sooji Halwa is Ready!


    • Adding salt will enhance the flavor.
    • People who like to have more sweetness in their Sooji halwa can slightly increase the quantity of sugar as per their taste.
