Instant Pot Spicy Aloo Sabzi | Masala Potato


    • 4 medium size potatoes
    • 3 tbsp oil
    • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
    • curry leaves
    • 1 cup chopped onion
    • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • 2 green chilies
    • salt
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste
    • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder



    • Add 1 cup water to the bottom of the instant pot. Place Trivet.
    • Wash and cut the potatoes into half. No need to cut for small potatoes.  Place these potatoes on top of the trivet.
    • Close the lid with sealing position.  Set high pressure 5 minutes, Cancel when it is done.
    • Open the lid after natural pressure release.
    • Let it cool down then peel the potatoes.  Cut into medium size pieces.
    • Clean the inner pot of the instant pot.  Turn on saute mode.
    • When the pot is hot, add oil, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
    • Add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste and green chilies. Saute until onion turns into light brown.
    • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and garam masala powder.
    • Add chopped potatoes and mix them gently.
    • Saute for 2 minutes, if needed change the saute mode to LOW to avoid burning at the bottom. Turn off saute mode.
    • Garnish with chopped cilantro.  
    • Delicious Spicy potato is Ready.  It can be served with Rice or Roti or Bread.
