STEP BY STEP VIDEO:
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups penne pasta
- 2 cups pasta sauce (Here I used Classico Tomato & basil sauce)
- 6 cups water
- (Pasta & water ratio - 1 cup pasta : 1½ cup water)
- 2 tbsp oil or olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 green chilies
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped green beans
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp pepper powder (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp rosemary
- Salt (as per taste)
- 1 tbsp cream (optional)
- Toppings:
- Grated cheese (I used Mozzarella cheese)
- Dry basil leaves
- Olives
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Turn on instant pot saute mode. When it is hot, add oil and cumin seeds.
- Add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, and green chilies - Saute until onion turns into light brown.
- Add chopped carrots, chopped green beans, and green peas. Suate for a minute
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, and rosemary - Quick stir.
- Add pasta sauce (I used Classico tomato and basil sauce) and penne pasta. Mix all togher.
- Add water and mix. (For 1 cup penne pasta, use 1½ cup of water)
- Close the lid with sealing position.
- Set high pressure for 6 minutes . When done, Cancel after 5 minutes.
- Open the lid after 5 minutes, quick release.
- Add whipping cream, and toppings with cheese, olives & dry basil leaves.
- Delicious Masala pasta is ready to serve.
NOTE:
- Here I used 6QT DUO instant pot.
- You can reduce the spice level by reducing the chili powder and green chili.
- You can skip the spices if it is not available.
