Instant Pot Poha Kheer | Aval Payasam | Flattened Rice Pudding


Poha is Flattened Rice, It is also called atukulu or aval. Kheers are one of the easiest and quickest dessert that can be made. This poha kheer is ready in 10 minutes.


This can be easily made during festive occasions or on auspicious days. Here I used thick poha, you can use thin poha too.

INGREDIENTS:
    • 1/2 cup think poha
    • 2 tbsp ghee
    • 2 1/4 cup milk
    • 2 tbsp nuts sliced (almonds, cashews..)
    • 1/3 cup sugar/brown sugar
    • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

    • Turn on instant pot Saute mode. Wait until it shows 'hot'.
    • Add 2 tbsp ghee with sliced nuts. Saute for 30 seconds.
    • Add think poha, and saute for a minute.
    • Add milk, cardamom powder and sugar. Mix it all together.
    • Close the instant pot lid with sealing position.
    • Set high pressure 2 minutes.
    • Open the lid after natural pressure release.
    • Quick and Yummy Poha Kheer is ready!

NOTE:
    • Here I used Instant Pot 6QT DUO.
    • Poha Kheer can be served hot, warm or chilled.
    • You can add more sugar if needed.
