Instant Pot Yellow Split Gram Curry

                                                                                                                                            


INGREDIENTS


    • 1 cup Moong dal / Yellow split gram
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 1/2 cup chopped Onion
    • 3 Garlics
    • 1 Cup Chopped Tomato
    • 3 Serrano Pepper/ Green Chillies
    • Curry leaves (optional)
    • Salt to taste
    • Cilantro chopped
    • Powder:
      • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
      • 1 or 2 tsp Red Chilli Pepper Powder
    • Tadka/ Tempering:
      • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
      • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
      • 1 tsp Urud dal / White Gram
      • Hing / Asafotida little

STEPS:



    • Clean and Soak the Yellow split gram for 10 minutes (optional)
    • Turn on Instant Pot Saute mode
    • Add Oil. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, urud dal, cumin,  and Curry leaves. 
    • Add Chopped Onions, Garlics and Serrano Peppers, Saute for a minute
    • Add Chopped Tomatoes, Saute for a minute.
    • Add Salt, Turmeric Powder and Red Chilli Pepper Powder  -  Quick Stir
    • Add cleaned and Soaked moong dal with 3 cups of water.
    • Close the lid with the Sealing position, Cancel Saute Mode, Set manual High pressure 5 mins
    • After NPR open the lid. Add water to adjust consistancy.
    • Garnish with Cilantro
    • Yummy Moong Dal Curry/ Yellow Split Gram Soup is ready.
