Instant Pot Dry Green Beans Curry | Indian style Green Beans Recipe



    • 3 Cups Green Beans Chopped
    • 1/2 Cup Chopped Onion
    • 2 Green Chilies / Serrano Peppers
    • 2 tbsp water
    • Salt as needed
    • Cilantro chopped (optional)
    • Tempering:
      • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
      • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
      • 1/2 tsp Urad dal / White Gram
      • 1/2 tsp Chana Dal / Split Bengal Gram
      • Hing / Asafotida (little)
      • Curry Leaves (optional)
    • Masala Powders:
      • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
      • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Pepper Powder (adjust to taste)


    • Turn on instant pot saute mode. When it is hot, add oil.
    • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, hing and curry leaves.  Wait until it splutters.
    • Add chopped onion and green chilies - Saute until onion turns into light brown.
    • Add chopped green beans - Saute for a minute.
    • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt - Mix all together with little water.
    • Close the lid with sealing position.  Set Low pressure 0 (zero) minutes.  Cancel/turnoff when it is done.
    • Open the lid after quick release. Garnish with chopped cilantro
    • Yummy Green Beans is ready in minutes.


    • Here I used 6QT DUO instant pot.
    • You can reduce the spice level by reducing the chili powder.
    • You can skip the spices if it is not available.
